Gabriel Kidd is inspired by the queerness of figures from fairy-tale and folklore, often returning to the stories of myth and legend as they explore the formation of Queer identity through the rural landscape.

 

Gabriel Kidd (b. 1999) lives and works in Manchester. He earned his undergraduate degree in Fine Art from the Manchester School of Art in 2021 and in the same year completed a placement at the Cyprus College of Arts in Lemba. Kidd has been included in several group shows in Manchester and had his first solo exhibition in 2022 at the artist-run space PS Mirabel. He currently features in the Bloomberg New Contemporaries exhibition that will travel from the Ferens Art Gallery and Humber Street Gallery in Hull to the South London Gallery in December 2022.
